Taylor Swift released her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), to the delight of many Swiftie fans.
In The Tortured Poets Department, Swift found immediate success with her album becoming the first album in Spotify history to have over 300 million streams in a single day, said Spotify in a press release.
Spotify also said The Tortured Poets Department also broke the record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024.
In addition, Spotify said Swift’s single from the album, “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history.
TTPD is an elevation of Swift’s previous albums, delivering on themes of longing, heartache, passion and love.
Swift delivers her signature vocals with a return to her earlier style, of more pop machine drums and strong use of synths.
Swift also continues her tradition of antagnosing her enemies and haters, calling herself an underdog against the injustices of the world.
“Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” is the song that best exemplifies this, Swift sings about the perceived misdeeds people have committed against her.

After the initial release of TTPD, part two was released, called, The Anthology, it is an extra 16 songs attached to the original TTPD.
The songs from The Anthology allow fans to hear a more pensive Swift than the original 15 songs from the album.
The Tortured Poets Department has come out with time for momentum to grow before the summer when stations will be deciding the hit of the summer.
