Funktasy Magazine is an online original content outlet and publication dedicated to music and entertainment. The magazine covers interviews with various artists and industry experts, music gear reviews and updates, music business and technology news, fashion, entertainment and popular culture.

About You

• You are passionate about music & fashion.
• You have a keen interest in magazines and digital media.
• You have part-time (min. 8 hours/week) or full-time (flexible hours) available for a minimum internship of 3 months.
• You studied or are currently studying a program related to journalism.
• You have a great eye for detail and possess a superior knowledge of current events, including but not limited to fashion, beauty and pop-culture trends.
• You should have a basic understanding of the music industry as well as the fashion industry but are still eager to learn more about the day-to-day process behind it all.
• You are a team player, creative thinker and a great communicator.
• You are passionate about the latest trends.
• You’re an avid user of all social media platforms.
• You must have strong computer skills.
• You’re highly motivated and organized.
• You are able to work independently and have a proactive attitude.
• You must have experience handling confidential information.
• Experience as a social media influencer is a plus.

The Role

Funktasy Magazine is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual interested in learning more about the music industry, fashion, pop-culture, digital marketing, content creation and social media. This internship will allow individuals to gain first-hand experience in a variety of areas, including but not limited to, digital magazine, digital publication, interviews, marketing, design, advertisement, promotional campaigns, cross-promotion and sponsorship.

Your Responsibilities

• You will research topics to increase readership and engagement of social media platforms and website.
• You will create initiative events and contest to increase readership.
• You will work alongside the editorial team to plan, implement, and manage publication schedules.
• You will develop relationships with industry publicists to reach potential interviewees.
• You will assist our social media team with relevant content across all social media networks.
• You will develop trendy material to increase readership of article and sales.
• You will interview individuals of importance and write trending article for audience.
• You will be create campaign reports in close collaboration with our in-house team.
• You will proofread manuscripts to identify any grammatical and spelling errors.
• You will perform certain administrative duties, such as replying to emails, and setting up meetings.
• You will be in touch with Funktasy artists and talent.
• You will research facts and new features to maintain accuracy.
• You must have an eye for viral trends which are the perfect fit to push our tracks and brand campaigns forward and deliver out of the box ideas.
• You must be comfortable in sharing ideas with internal teams.
• You will assist with internal briefings.
• You will review layouts and designs for publication covers.
