Love Island Dupes – Steal the Looks, Not the Men

If you’re anything like us (or just not living under a rock), then your social media feeds are likely flooded with Peacock’s hit show, Love Island USA.

The originally UK-based reality TV dating show has been out since 2019, but it started making headlines last year with Season 6, when viewers couldn’t get enough of the three major couplings that made it through the show (shoutout Kordena!). So, it’s no surprise that fans are enthralled by their newest season, Season 7, which premiered last month on June 3. 

From the insane crash-outs to the hilarious tone deaf singing, this season has taken over social media, and we are all in for the drama. But this time, we at Funktasy are highlighting a lesser-talked-about topic on the show: fashion.

This season’s Islanders are rocking some of the hottest fashion of the franchise, and we know some of you are looking for ways to recreate these looks without breaking your budget. 

Today, we’ll be highlighting five of the most fire fits of Season 7, giving you a detailed rundown on how to recreate them in a cost-friendly way. 

Episode 9 – Mistress Ruby

First up is this season’s hostess, Ariana Madix, who is arguably the drippiest of them all this season. Since she made her hosting debut on the show last summer, there have been whispers from fans of Madix’s fashion reaching iconic status. But this season, those whispers turned into all-out screams. Viewers have excitedly taken to social media platforms like X and TikTok to rave about how Madix undeniably “upped her fashion game” this season and has claimed the “it girl” throne.

She can be seen switching up her style each episode from killer outfits to striking wigs, proving to be quite the fashionista. Here’s our favourite look from her this season, and where you can get it for a steal.

The Original Look

Starting strong, Madixis is wearing an all-red dominatrix-inspired look. The dress is Oh La La Cherri, retailing for about $82. The shoes are Steve Madden in the style Ceila, retailing for $119. The chokers are from Amazon, retailing for about $28 each, and her robe is by couture designer RVNG, but the price is unknown. In total, this look cost our girl about $300 (excluding the couture robe). But let’s see how you can have it for cheaper.

Lastly, it’s accessory time. While we did find Madix’s exact choker here from $26.75, we found a super cute alternative option for only $9! 

In total, this look would cost about $122 — almost half the price of her original look with a robe! 

Episode 1 – Shimmering Sunrise

The Original Look:

Since day one, Chelley has stunned Love Island viewers with her beauty and her fashion sense. As soon as the first episode aired, fans could not stop raving about the gorgeous ombre dress she wore for the first match-up.

Here’s the breakdown: 

She’s wearing the Malibu Midi Dress in the colorway multi by Runaway, and it retails for $189. She completed the look with clear, pointed-toe pumps featuring a hot pink heel and added gold accessories, including a bangle bracelet and earrings. 

While we don’t know the exact specifics on shoes and accessories, we’d say Chelley’s look goes for about $275, give or take.

Episode 9 – The Business B

The Original Look

Back with another killer fit, we have our hostess, Miss Madix, in a jaw-dropping burgundy and black cutout two-piece skirt set by designer Laquan Smith. This look is so sexy and chic, making it perfect for a date night. The top goes for $1,200 and the skirt for $2,300 (bawdy sold separately), totalling a whopping $3,500 for the full look.

Now, while we do our best here at Funktasy, we sadly aren’t magicians, so we couldn’t conjure up an exact dupe for this designer look. But we did find some super hot (and affordable) alternatives that give the same sexy and luxury vibe as Madix.

This gown is the perfect shade of burgundy, with the addition of sequins that add a touch of elegance and luxury, mimicking the designer feel. It even had a mesh cut out and high slit so you can be like Madix and show off your killer bawdy.

Episode 12 – Furkini

The Original Look

Next up is Amaya Payaya, our tone deaf singing queen who gave us Little Red Riding Hood realness in Episode 12, where she sports an exclusive SKIMS fur bikini that went for $82, and she paired it with a plaid red flannel and a light-washed denim micro short. At least she’s hitting the right notes with her fashion.

Sadly, the look is no longer available anywhere, but we worked our fashion magic and found a killer alternative, along with some affordable options to complete the rest of the look.

 Last (but never the least), we have our resident classy queen Olandria, who popped out on Episode 1, serving pure baddie energy in a stunning aqua blue rhinestone cutout halter dress from OhPolly.  The dress retails for $215, and she complemented her look with a simple strappy metallic silver heel and silver accessories. 

The look is fun, sexy and perfect for a fancy date or a luxurious evening out. We found two amazing dupes under $100 that will instantly turn you into a bombshell.
