Cropped Silhouettes

With the resurgence of the crop top, notably a nod to the 80s, we are seeing more and more feminine silhouettes becoming a staple for men. The cropped shirt is reflected in this fall’s fashion through the form of cropped jackets. There is a new emphasis on proportions for men and utilizing clothes that flatter or highlight the shape of the body. This will likely manifest in cropped jackets accompanied by baggy, high-waisted jeans or pants. Leaning into a unique silhouette ensures interest within an outfit and accentuates the midpoint on the body. The resurgence of androgyny in fashion has begun, and we could not be more excited to see how men run with this new trend. As with most aspects of fashion, cropped jackets and shirts are for everyone and are sure to elevate any outfit.

Knitwear

Whether wool or cashmere, a cozy sweater is a staple piece to add to your wardrobe this fall. Sweaters don’t just add warmth to an outfit, but style, texture and dimension as well. Throwing on a sweater over a t-shirt is a great option for quick and simple outfit construction. Experimenting with various textiles and patterns can change the look as well, with wool adding a classic vibe and cashmere inviting an elevated, elegant touch. Leaning into a simple look might entail a sweater with no patterns to highlight the silhouette of the outfit. But if patterns are on the agenda, sweaters can be used to make a statement and emphasize the top half of a look. Overall, sweaters are a tried and true staple of fall fashion, ensuring a comprehensive outfit every time.

Denim

No list, for any season, would be complete without a mention of the tried and true all-American classic: denim. Regardless of the shade of denim, there is no denying that baggy and oversized styles are the most popular choice for the base silhouette of jeans in 2025. This fall, expect to see that continued alongside a resurgence of selvedge denim. This type of denim is woven on shuttle looms, which is a more traditional way to craft jeans, and rose to popularity in America in the late 19th century. This technique locks the edge in place, creating a “self-edge” evolving into its namesake “selvedge.” This retro way of making jeans has interested many fashion buffs and adds a new sense of dimension to outfits. Denim is an ever-evolving style regardless of the season, and adding a fun twist through the type of denim or silhouette of the pant leg is a great way to try something new.

Loafers

Corporate and workwear styles have continued to flourish in 2025, and from this trend, loafers have emerged as a popular footwear choice. For men this fall, expect to see this trend continue to bloom. Many brands, like Dr. Martens, released new loafers for the fall with colorways that mirror the vibrant orange and yellow hues of the turning trees. Boat shoes have made a reappearance this fall in various colour-ways, showing that even nautical styles have come back. Many brands have reinvented this style of shoe, shying away from its predecessor and leaning into a modern, elevated version. Dr. Martens is one of those brands that took the bones of the boat shoe and added their own twist to ease in styling and consumer approval. The shoes may be reminiscent of a piece your grandfather would wear, but why not take a page out of his book and rock a pair this fall?

Jewelry

As men continue to experiment with trends and accessorization, jewelry becomes a big part of their style. Various jewelry pieces are bound to decorate the necks, wrists and hands of men this fall. Jewelry is not something to fear, even though it is another example of something seen more often in women’s fashion, but it is another aspect of androgyny making its appearance. Now, many brands are adapting jewelry to appeal to men by using masculine styles and designs. A chunky, bold ring is a great way to add some shine to an outfit while maintaining a more masculine feel. Chunky style rings and chains have always been popular for men and are sure to elevate a simple sweater or perhaps the cropped jacket mentioned earlier.

Layering

Layering remains popular in men’s style this fall. Over the past few years, layering t-shirts with sweaters has been a consistent way to add depth to an outfit, and that trend will continue. This notion will likely give a nod to the “preppy” aesthetics that have been steadily emerging in 2025. Part of that preppy aesthetic will manifest in rugby shirts, long-sleeve polo shirts and V-neck sweaters. This aesthetic has been popular with all gender expressions, creating a sleek and simple way to style pieces.
