What is a typical daily routine for AVAION?

I like to sleep, but not too long, so I try to get enough rest without overdoing it. I wake up around 8:00 or 9:00 AM, depending on how long the session was the previous day. Then I get breakfast. If the sun is out, I try to get some sunlight because that’s important to me-I really like the sun on my face. Then I get ready and drive to my studio, which is about 20 minutes away.

Once I’m there, I spend most of the day in the studio. I’m not constantly working – I get distracted a lot, but I always try my best. That’s basically a normal day for me: being in the studio, taking lunch breaks, but mostly working there. I especially enjoy sessions in Berlin since it’s about a five-hour drive from where I live (Fürth). It’s nice to be in a different city with new people and artists. It’s a great break from the daily routine.

Congratulations on your latest single, “Wackua”! What inspired the track, and how was the creative process?

It was super chill and easy. It’s not always like that, but this time it was. I got sent the vocals from Sophia, and they said, “Hey, we’ve got this top line, she’s always wanted to work with you…” I knew her from other songs and loved her vocals, so I listened and thought, yeah, I can do something with this.

It was a simple process – I sat down, listened, started doing chords, and built the track step by step. Then I found a synth for the drop. In about three days, the song was done. It was a smooth and easy one.

What first sparked your passion for DJing and music production? Was there a specific moment or influence that set you on this path?

When I was a kid, my parents had a CD collection of German Techno in their bedroom stereo system. I always snuck in and listened to all the CDs from top to bottom-German Dance music, German Techno – and I fell in love with the synthesizer sound. It did something to me, and I knew I wanted to do that too.

I learned instruments because I thought that was the way to make music, but later I discovered producing and making my own songs with synthesizers, and I knew that was it. I started with a keyboard since my hands were too small for a piano, then switched to piano, played the organ in church, then guitar. But I never loved playing instruments or training – I actually didn’t like it. It felt too mathematical. For me, music is like a journal, all about feelings, not numbers. That’s why I wanted to make my own sounds instead of just playing an instrument, so I started producing.

How has AVAION’s sound evolved since your start in 2018? Are there any shifts in style or influences that have shaped your current sound?

I think it’s a lot of exercise. Producing means knowing how to handle a software, and the more you practice, the better you get. Life changes – you meet new people, gain new influences and live through new experiences. All of these shape your music and who you are. Your whole being influences the music you make. Growing up, getting older, getting wiser, and experiencing life – that’s what shapes you the most.

What has been your all-time favorite moment performing? Why?

I played a gig in my hometown (Fürth) where almost my whole family and relatives came. It was really nice because they saw me on a big stage for the first time. They knew what I did, but seeing it live made them really get it. My mom and dad, who have been divorced for twenty years, were there together, and it was really nice. Music connects.

In a competitive scene filled with both rising talents and established electronic artists, what do you think sets AVAION’s music apart and what makes it unique?

I’m the producer, songwriter, and singer of my songs, which is pretty unusual. I’d say I invented my own sound, and that’s something I’m really proud of. Having a sound people recognize – whether from the vocals, the production, or the whole combination – is the best feeling. And when people get it, that’s really nice.

Your track Pieces from the “Selfreflection” album (2024) has become your most-streamed song on Spotify. Did you anticipate it to resonate so strongly with listeners?

I had the demo and showed it to friends, asking what they thought. This was almost six years ago. The song was pretty old – I had it on my laptop for a long time. When I played it for friends, they said, “Bro, this is different, this is new, this is nice.” Back then, even more so than now, not many people were doing this style, so it felt fresh. They told me I should release it.

We released it with the label, and it did well at the start. People liked it, and it was a really good song, but it wasn’t an instant breakout moment. It was more of an organic, steady rise. People connected with the vibe and understood what I was going for. Over time, it started getting picked up on IG Reels and TikToks. People used it all the time-superstars, pro soccer players – and that was really nice.

Tell us more about AVAION’s team. Who is behind your PR, your label, your management and anyone else and working to make you get to where you want to be?

I have the label team, Sony Music and RCA Germany. I have my artists and repertoire, my project managers, and Jo from Urban Rebel PR, where we plan and make the best out of the content. We decide what to post and how to maximize what we have. It’s great to have a strong team in the background to plan, communicate and make the right decisions at the right time.

For young producers and artists, social media is powerful. You can do it without a team – just start posting from your bedroom. That’s what I did, and labels noticed me. They reached out, asking if I wanted to talk. But you have to take that first step, even from your bedroom.

If you could collaborate with any artist in the industry, who would be at the top of your list and why?

The Blaze. Absolute number one. Their music videos and music are insanely good – always a big inspiration, vibe-wise. The combination of their music and visuals is phenomenal. When I listen to them, they give me a feeling I really enjoy.

I think our sounds could mesh well together. I heard they don’t do collaborations, but if they did, they would be my number one.

As an artist, what’s your ultimate goal? Is there a defining achievement or impact you hope to make through your music?

It’s not about a specific award or number. It’s about making as many people as possible happy with my music. That’s all I can hope for.
